Last week at San Francisco-based event Gaming Insiders, Capy Games president Nathan Vella shared some insightful stats regarding indie game sales figures.

Of those, perhaps the most surprising is that retro-style action platformer Shovel Knight nearly made as much revenue on 3DS as it did on Steam.

Vella shared a pie chart (pictured above) of Shovel Knight's net revenue distribution across different platforms.

Steam came out on top taking 32 percent but 3DS is right behind it at 30 percent.

You can also see in that same image that Double Fine's Kickstarted adventure game Broken Age made 61 percent of its net revenue on Windows PCs.

But mobile came in second place with 16 percent of the game's net revenue, beating PS4 and PS Vita.

"Shovel Knight broke the impression that indies don't sell so well on Nintendo, and Broken Age has a surprisingly huge following on Mac," Vella said.

"All of these games are generating significant amounts of net revenue from a whole bunch of different platforms. If you were to remove a single platform, these developers would be leaving a significant chunk of money behind."
VentureBeat
"I never was any hand at guessing, Mistress Blythe, and yet somehow when I come in I thought, `Where have I seen them eyes before?'--for I HAVE seen 'em."

Cannon Ballers is an upcoming roguelike where you effectively play as a cannonball that promises to not have any free-to-play tropes like ads or IAPs. It's available now in beta on Android and iOS.

Technically, you're playing as a pirate who's either inside the cannonball or controlling the ball from the inside the cannon. I'm pretty certain it's the former, not that it matters, either way, you'll be controlling the ball's movements using an on-screen analogue stick.

That's pretty much it for controls too as Cannon Ballers is designed to be a one-handed game. You'll start off by simply bashing into the various enemies you'll come across which are predominately animals with the occasional odd quirk, like wolves with candles on their heads.

But as you progress through the procedural levels you'll be able to get various power-ups that change your roll happy style of player. For instance, you can get a spin that will extend upwards on the screen. It will automatically charge when there's an enemy within its radius and you'll have to keep the ball steady for long enough for the spear to strike.
Top 25 best roguelikes on iPhone and iPad
It's also got a pretty offbeat sense of humour that might not be to everyone's taste. A good way to get a flavour for this is to head on over to the game's official site and read the way they've decided to advertise the game. From there you'll be able to decide if it's your style of comedy.

Because the game is currently in beta the developers are also looking for feedback. So if you do decide to give Cannon Ballers a shot then you can give the dev some feedback over on their Discord.

Cannon Baller is available now in beta on Google Play and through Apple's Testflight service.
Nominate your Game of the Year for the Pocket Gamer People's Choice Award 2020.kanpo.cc

Dinofarm Games has released Auro for Android at long last. The iOS version is on its way, too.

Auro is the latest game from 100 Rogues designer Keith Burgan. This time around, Burgan has grafted a "monster-bumping adventure" for us all.

Yep, Auro is a game of tactics in which you guide Prince Auro through procedurally generated dungeons.

To protect him, you'll have to make do with a handful of spells and strategic movement to deal with the nasties.

It all plays out on a hex-based grid surrounded by liquid that vanquishes everything that falls into it. Each monster has its own unique ability that you'll have to get familiar with if you hope to stay on dry land.
Auro has a story mode so you can get to grips with how it works. It also has a competitive play mode that lets you build up your Rank over time.

It's taken a while but it looks like the separate Nintendo Switch dock sets are finally on their way to the UK.
An accessory set that includes a #NintendoSwitch dock, an AC adapter and an HDMI cable will be available from 23/06. pic.twitter.com/42C2838gTd— Nintendo UK (@NintendoUK) May 10, 2017 Tweeted out on the Nintendo UK Twitter earlier today, we've been waiting for news on these 'sold separately' dock sets for some time now. The set includes the dock (duh), the AC adapter, and HDMI cable, so it's basically identical to the original load that came in your Switch console box.

From taking a quick nosy around the web, the US Switch docks are set to come into stock on Amazon, Nintendo, Best Buy, Gamestop, and Walmart on May 19th. The UK lot'll have to wait a little longer as it's set to launch on June 23rd, more than a month later.

Why you'd need a new dock, I don't know. You could be really clumsy and have lost/broken yours already. You could just had travelling with the dock and keep a spare one in another room/house just in case. Whatever your reason, there's your solution.

Pricing-wise, these little piece of kit are likely to set you back a fair chunk - probably around what a Joy-Con pair would cost you (about £70-80/$80-90). I'll update you when we know for sure.

The Lion replied, "I have no objection, but you must excuse me for requiring you to find surety for your good faith, for how can I trust anyone as a friend who is able to fly away from his bargain whenever he pleases?'
